Shoresides

Shoresides (2019-present)

Shoresides is a hyperlocal news site that centers around community podcast production. I launched it with a team of artists and journalists after the devastation of Hurricane Florence exposed a need for local media in rural coastal North Carolina.  Today, Shoresides acts as the region’s nonprofit civic journalism lab and produces stories, trains civic journalists, and brings communities together to build a healthy media ecology for the region. Many of the lessons learned in the creation of Calls from Home and Prison Poetry Workshop carried over into this work. Take a listen to the site at www.shoresides.org
